Patek Philippe ref 96 from the 1940’s
Patek Philippe ref 96 Calatrava in excellent condition for sale. The watch dates back to 1943 and has been sold three years later in 1946, its a yellow gold model in full original condition. It has a beautiful silver dial with the old style signature ‘Patek, Philippe & Co.’,. The case has been previously polished and remains in great condition too.
The reference 96 is the first Calatrava wristwatch introduced in 1932, its one of the most iconic dress watches ever and the 31mm Calatrava originally designed for men is worn by both men and woman today.
This watch comes with an extract of the archives confirming the production date in 1943 and sale date in 1946. The fact this Calatrava is from the 1940’s makes it a rare bird especially when the original dial is preserved in this form, the watch comes on an alligator leather strap with generic buckle.
